There has been quite the buzz about the many iterations of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s in recent months. I admit, it took plenty of time for me to come around. So much that I went back a couple of years to a model that really speaks to me, the Reverso Squadra Polo Fields.
This piece is loaded, both technically and aesthetically. It is rocked out with a black ceramic case, the black dials are lit up by typically Reverso-style numerals in white, as are the seconds hand and the movement operating indicator. Dare I say “lastly”, on the back, the world-time function indicates the entire set of time zones on a transparent disc subdivided into 24 hours. Let me not forget that it is also boasts a day/night indication.
Even though I don’t have a profound love for chronographs, the Polo Fields treats this complication nicely. Square chronograph minute and hour counters are located at 9 and 3 o’clock while the large date at 12 o’clock boasts a crystal-clear display through twin apertures, while the movement running indicator is positioned at 6 o’clock.
True, it took me some time, but at least one of the Reverso timepieces has gotten some shine on “the movement”!!!
