tag heuer’s re-editioned silverstone…

Published on February 28th, 2011

Now this, is a really NICE look. Love the classic look, the positioning of the crown and the relatively understated look of the chrono dials. I’m not a big fan of chronographs any more, but when presented like this, I have to give the maker due props.

Lately, TAG Heuer has been editioning like crazy with timepieces like the Aquaracer and Monaco, and doing it well. With this, the Silverstone, TAG is really doing a great job of bringing classic back into style as well. The Silverstone was originally launched in 1969 as the world first automatic chronograph movement with micro-rotor. The re-edition is faithful to the original — not just the same bold mix of round and square and the distinctive technical features, but also the same vintage “HEUER” logo and “SILVERSTONE” lettering at 12 o’clock, and a strap in top-grade perforated alligator. There are two colorways available (brown and blue). Both are hot, but I’m definitely favoring the blue dial/strap colorway!!!

Altogether, a very nice re-issue!!!
