This timepiece is special, but not exclusively because of it’s limited edition release. It’s special because it’s one of those rare timepieces that successfully unites executive and stately aesthetics with sound engineering and contemporary design silhouettes. I mean, not too often do you find a tourbillon that’s either too overtly technical, or “conservative” timepieces that make you feel like they’ll rarely leave their owners’ watch winders. There have been more popping up lately, and I’m really starting to feel the need to give tourbillons more play on this site, such as the beauty by the McGonigle’s or the latest releases from Vacheron Constantin.
Anyway, refocus back to this beauty, the Ronde d’Or by Ateliers DeMonaco. How cool are those hour markers??? Never have I seen such cool fonting on Roman numerals, on top of the nicely designed bridge that they rest upon. The openworked tourbie display is equally fresh!!! Very cool look from this “young” boutique watchmaker, Ateliers DeMonaco.
