I like to think of my son as a hip little dude, but I haven’t gotten him to think past G-Shocks and other “toy” watches. My son actually bought me a cool ODM piece a couple of years ago. But nowadays, for himself, he’s running through G-Shocks like old sneakers. No disrespect to Casio, but kids these days just haven’t acquired an appreciation for design and manufacturing enough to appreciate some of the beasts that are on the market. Take this piece for example, the “settimana junior”, from Ochs and Junior. If your kid is a hipster, try to prepare yourself to shell out a few thousand USD, and make sure that you insure this bad boy. You know how kids are with their apparel!!!
This watch is playful, fun and serious all at the same time. It has a very contemporary and minimalist aesthetic that will make you proud, seeing it on your kid’s wrist. It also is driven by some pretty solid engineering and functionality. The case is fabricated out of “skin-friendly” titanium, and what I believe to be a hypo-allergenic, natural rubber strap. To top it off, the beast is driven by the ETA 2824 self-winding movement. Adding a cool degree of personalization, the casebook is engraved with the name, address and telephone number of its owner.
Pretty cool, huh??? Maybe it’s time to push your little junior towards one of these unique beasts…
