True to form, Monsieur Clooney brought his Seamaster with him in his latest movie, The American. Clooney’s wrister should receive residual checks since it not only appeared on his wrist but also got on 1st camera more than once, rare isolated shots on screen than any timepiece that I’ve ever noticed. The film is a slow piece of work, kinda like Syriana. Plenty of beautiful Italian women, small villas and of course, Clooney’s timepiece.
Speaking of Clooney’s timepiece, check out the detail on this new Speedmaster…not quite the one sported by GC in “The American” but definitely worth mention.
The dial, available in black or silver, features a distinctive “Geneva Waves” pattern. The chrono sub-dials are tricked out with a honeycomb pattern that is, on most watches, usually seen on the dial itself. Very proper application on the subs. The sub-dial rings on the silver dial are blackened and those on the black dial are silver for a particularly appealing contrast. There is a date window at the 4:30 position on the dial. The hour and minute hands are coated with white Super-LumiNova which makes them easy to read in all lighting conditions. The central chrono hand has a red tip as do the hands of the sub-dials. Lastly, this beast is powered by OMEGA’s Co-Axial calibre 3313 and is water resistant to 100 meters.

He should have been wearing a ‘demos watch’.
