Concord’s C1, Big Date is an interesting piece. I’m seeing a lot more carbon-faced pieces lately, or near facsimiles thereof, and Concord puts a nice touch on it. Carbon fiber (and near facsimiles) can be a little distracting to me, but Concord balances out all of that texture real nicely by designing the Big Date with a Big Date. Equally cool is the very distinctive seconds disc, down at 6 o’clock. These design elements help me appreciate this piece in a holistic sense, rather than having to focus on just one aesthetic attribute.
In case you were wondering, the loose tape on this piece is pretty standard: self-winding La Joux-Perret movement, 44 hour power reserve, chronometer certification and moderate water resistance are but a few of the top shelf functions of this wrister…
