pita barcelona's oceana diver…

Published on July 29th, 2010

Now, I’m really digging the simplicity of PB’s Oceana. The one thing that this diver can do without is, those silver rivets on the case. I have no idea what their purpose is, aside from annoying me. Anyway, back to the positive….

This diver is typical of the minimalist pieces that I have grown to love, from Oris’ BC3 to Fortis’ Black/Black and even IWC’s Galapagos diver. This wrister is available in the stealthy black/black, which I love, or any assortment of customizable bezels. I’ll never reach the depths that this beast can take me, but it does earn much respect for its capability of reaching 5000 meters below…

specs for the Oceana…

• water resistance to more than 5000 meters.
• two patented systems for a water-entry free case: Pita-TSM (Time Setting Mechanism) and Pita-RT (Remote Transmission)
• no crown, no back cover, no weak points
• Pita-003 Movement (based on a heavily-modified ETA-2678), allowing time setting under water
• 9.8mm thick rounded polycarbonate crystal. No seal joint between crystal and steel case
• available in stainless steel, 18 ct. Gold, or Platinum 950
• assortment of bezels, dials, hands, straps and buckles to choose from
• numbered and limited series
