Today, at the Couture Show in Las Vegas, watchmaker Gergé dropped a heavy on us. The maker unveiled the “Type M – Metropolis” luxury watch series. The “Type M – Metropolis” collection is inspired by the futuristic vision of urban architecture typified in the world-renowned Fritz Lang film, “Metropolis”. This is a gnarly piece that will be issued in limited edition, and will be available mid-2010. Pity that the maker didn’t reveal this beast at the Turner Classic Movies’ Film Fest this past April. Metropolis was one of the marquee films, and closed the festival!

The “Type M – Metropolis” features a (45mm) architectural round case, available in steel, titanium or rose gold and titanium. When it hits the pavement, the “Type M – Metropolis” will be available in three main variations…
• Type M3 automatic-chrono COSC, with mono push-button and date
• Type M2 automatic-chrono movement and date
• Type M automatic day/date movement.
