breitling's super-O

Published on March 31st, 2010

Lately, I’ve been impressed by the amount of minimalist Breitling watches popping up. Not that the maker has never made simple, minimalist pieces, it just seems that most of their pieces are loaded with information on their faces.

The Superocean Heritage is the latest beast to catch my attention. I “discovered” it while flipping through an old issue of GQ. Released in ’07, Breitling dropped this tribute piece, celebrating its 1957 launch of the original Superocean.

By definition, the “Super-O” is a dive watch, but is clearly versatile enough to rock at the player’s tables in Vegas or anywhere on the town. I’m impressed with the woven steel bracelet, reminiscent of vintage pieces by other makers that I’ve owned over the years.
